The Environmental Service Providers Association (ESPA) has supported Nshorna Project and Google Ghana to undertake a clean-up exercise at the Kpeshie Estuary – Laboma Beach Resort, Teshie-Accra on Saturday 24th June, 2017.
The Nshorna Project led by Kojo Akoto Boateng of Citi FM, an Accra based radio startion is committed to keeping Ghana’s coastline clean and its people healthy.
The five-hour-clean-up started at 7:00 a.m. prompt and by 12 noon volumes of garbage had been cleared from the estuary.
The exercise was in memory of the late Akua Akyaa Nkrumah (a staff of Jekora Ventures), whose ‘Green Ghanaian Initiative’ created a lot of awareness about sanitation and recycling.
Debris gathered along the shores of the estuary were cleared and conveyed to appropriate final disposal sites. Jekora Ventures, a member of ESPA supported the exercise with motorized tricycle and a compaction truck made available by Daben Cleansing Services, also a member of ESPA.
