The ESPA as part of its corporate responsibility supported the Clean Ghana Action Ambassadors to clean up Kaneshie Market and its environs yesterday 5th July 2018.
The event which began at 6:00 am was organized to educate the market women, tro-tro drivers and the general public on the dangers filth poses to our health and the environment. The event was well attended by volunteers who had taken it upon themselves to campaign for a “Clean Kaneshie Market”. These volunteers desilted gutters, swept the lorry park station and some section of the markets.
The educational campaign which was the main purpose of the event was hinged on reusing plastic wastes for products such as bags, raincoats, yoga mats and water-bottle holders. An exhibition of these wares was mounted to serve as a side attraction. The public was encouraged to keep plastic waste for later collection by Clean Ghana Action Ambassadors instead of dumping them in gutters to avoid choking them.
The ESPA supported the campaign by providing the logistics such as the brooms, rakes, wheelbarrows, and baskets to help with the clean-up activity.
