The execution of franchise agreements/ contracts with the MMDAs, which has resulted in the injection of private capital into the waste management industry.
Improved procurement processes through the implementation of the Public Procurement Act, (Act 663) which has resulted in competition in the delivery of service among providers.
Investment by the private sector into mordern highly efficient appropriate equipment such as refuse compactors, Roll-on/off skip loading trucks, amongs others.
Increased fees fixed for waste service delivery by the varoius MMDAs for the private waste management industry.

Support and carry out environmentally friendly services in all aspects of waste management.
Mobilise capital and provide the machinery for effective utilization of support packages for the sector made available through national and multinational organizations.
Build the capacity of the needed human resources through seminars, workshops, training schemes and attachment programs, both local and abroad.
Advocate for the participation of the private sector in the provision of environmental services.
Initiate and support research programmes, for appropriate technology and management techniques.
