Message from the President

Waste management will continue to be critical as long as human exist. Efficient and reliable waste management is critical to the health and wellbeing of all, both rich and poor.
For us at Environment Service Providers Association, (ESPA), our commitment is undoubted and our capacity unparalleled.

Waste management is, however, today more challenging due to factors which include but not limited to population explosion in urban areas, increase in commerce and other trading activities and industrialization, indiscriminate dumping or littering o refuse is common, particularly in our markets and other public places.

The ESPA is currently leading research to influence policies and engender behavioral change, prerequisites to addressing Ghana’s worsening sanitation conditions.
We have since the rebranding of our association two years ago enjoyed the support of some organizations. Among these are NGO’s working in Ghana. We applaud the SNV, an NGO from the Netherlands, for offering ESPA members soft loans to augment their fleet in order to improve their collection and haulage of refuse to the final disposal sites.

In the coming months, we are working to build the capacity of our members in the areas of best practices in the waste management sector, business administration, and also help them acquire the skills needed for business to thrive under tough economic conditions.

Waste management is a tedious but a rewarding job. As waste contractors, it gives us joy to see our cities and towns clean and our people healthy and with the support of all, the government and the citizens, we can achieve a lot more in projecting Ghana as the cleanest city in Africa in 2020.

We at the ESPA are ever ready to work with you and together make Project 2020 a reality.
Thank you for your interest in ESPA.
