A ONE-DAY WORKSHOP TO REVIEW DRAFT INTEGRATED WASTEWATER AND FAECAL SLUDGE MANAGEMENT GUIDELINES FOR GHANA

The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research-Institute for Industrial Research (CSIR-IIR) in collaboration with Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) India, organized a one-day workshop to review draft  Integrated Wastewater and Faecal Sludge Management guidelines  for Ghana.

The Environmental Service Providers Association (ESPA) was among sector experts that gathered to review the guidelines.

The workshop reiterated the need for government to commit in bridging the gap in infrastructural deficit as key determinant in implementing the Wastewater and Faecal Sludge guidelines for Ghana. The guidelines also recommended Public Private Partnership (PPP) as means to promoting sustainability of sanitation projects.

The workshop took place on 6th September, 2019 at Erata Hotel, Accra. Other participants present at the workshop included Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), CONIWAS, IRC, Sewerage Systems Ghana Limited, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology together with stakeholders.
