A THREE DAY STAKEHOLDER RETREAT WORKSHOP ON UNDP MULTI-STAKEHOLDER WASTE RECOVERY PLATFORM

Environmental Service Providers Association participated in a three day stakeholder workshop organized by the  United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) at Hill Palace from 28 to 30th August, 2019.

UNDP seeks to create a digitally enabled multi-stakeholder platform to connect key stakeholders with data and technological solutions for resource recovery dubbed Waste Revovery platform. As such, the engagement targeted a small group of experts selected to work through series of activities to produce functional deliverables to guide the operations of the Waste recovery platform management team in the short, medium and long term. This discussion therefore, sought to fine-tune  the strategic direction of the Waste Recovery platform as its implementation entres into the next phase.

The workshop adopted an iterative process where stakeholders brainstormed in groups and in teams to identify, develop, fine-fune thematic areas notably stakeholder mapping, developing strategygaps and message and outlining the thematic focus and main activities of the platform. In attendance were over 20 participants drawn from Government, Civil societies and Academia/Research and consultancies. ESPA  Secretariat was represented by the Executive Secretary and the Assistant Research officer.
