ESPA nominated as steering committee member for NPAP

The Environmental Service Providers Association (ESPA) has expressed its commitment in supporting the government in the sustainable management of plastic waste in the country.

The President of the association, Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong made the commitment at the inauguration of a steering committee of the National Plastic Action Partnership (NPAP) of which ESPA has been made a member.

Recognition
ESPA nomination into the committee is in recognition of the association’s many years of advocacy work and, also as a major stakeholder in Ghana’s bid to manage plastic waste.
The Government announced the Ghana National Plastic Action Partnership (NPAP), a partnership with the Global Plastic Action Partnership (GPAP), on October 1, 2019 after the Ghana became the first African country to join GPAP, a public-private platform focused on tackling plastic pollution.

Benefits
A primary goal of the National Plastic Action Partnership is to progressively develop a Circular Economy for Ghana to serve as the operational framework for the effective and sustainable management of plastics.
It is expected that this will prevent plastic pollution of our environment, create business models along the entire plastics value-chain, and establish Ghana as the regional centre of excellence for a Plastics Circular Economy.ESPA nominated as steering committee member for NPAP.
